The Coral Flyer is Borneo's longest island-to-island zipline: 250 metres of cable strung between Pulau Gaya and Pulau Sapi in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, minutes by boat from Kota Kinabalu. You step off a platform on one island and arrive on the beach of another, having crossed a stretch of turquoise marine park at height, with the city skyline in one direction and open sea in the other. It's built to modern international standards — proper harnesses, trained operators, dual lines — and the ride itself takes well under a minute. The queue chatter afterwards takes considerably longer.
Why does a diving site list a zipline? Because nearly every trip to Sipadan routes through Kota Kinabalu, and most itineraries end up with a spare half-day there — before the flight home, or waiting for the Tawau connection. The Tunku Abdul Rahman park islands are the classic way to spend it: boat-hop from Jesselton Point, snorkel Sapi's easy house reef, and the Coral Flyer is the exclamation mark between the two islands. Non-divers and kids past the minimum size love it; divers who've just spent a week being weightless discover that flying is fun too.
