WHAT is all the fuss about?
Although it may be a relatively new and somewhat faddish concept, diver propulsion vehicles are actually very useful for exploring unreachable reefs in shorter time periods.
It also takes the strain away from diving.
For those with a technical interest, this course has plenty to satisfy your thirst for technical knowledge.
You'll learn how to fix and maintain your DPV, how to plan your ascents, descents and overall dives using a DPV and how to use a DPV safely so as not to harm the fragile marine environment around you, especially the corals.

Driving the DPV is fairly simple as it's essentially just an underwater scooter, but you'll be given full instructions on how to navigate, steer and stop.

A Dive Propulsion Vehicle — a DPV, essentially an underwater scooter — is one of diving's purest fun upgrades: more ground covered, less gas burned kicking, and a grin that lasts the whole surface interval.
Who's it for? Any certified diver (Open Water and up, minimum age 12) with basic comfort in the water. If the idea of flying along a reef edge with your fins trailing behind you makes you smile, you're the target audience.
What will I learn? DPV diving done properly: planning scooter dives (turnaround points and gas margins matter more when you can travel farther), balanced trim and steering, buddy procedures at speed, handling a unit through descent and ascent, and — the part everyone underestimates — what to do if the scooter stops being helpful mid-dive. Two training dives put it all in motion.
