PADI Tec 40 Course
This course gives you the chance to complete the first of four dives towards your PADI Tec Deep Diver certification and become familiar with the decompression software and equipment needed for deep diving.

Is your aim to become a full Tec Deep Diver?
If the answer is yes but you haven't quite met the requirements for the PADI Tec 45 or PADI Tec 50 courses yet, this is the bridging course you need.
Learn how to make use of dive computers and decompression software to plan and carry out decompression dives at depths of less than 40 metres and a maximum of 10 minutes total decompression.
You'll also learn how to use a single decompression gas cylinder that holds up to 50% oxygen (EANx50).
WHERE will it take me?
Down to at least 40 metres, and possibly deeper if you continue your certifications.
WHEN will I be ready?
Divers will dive up to 5 dives over 4 days. There will also be some theoretical components to the course including a daily classroom session and hands-on equipment practice.

HOW do I do it?
The course is the first subdivision of the full course that will qualify you as a PADI Tec Deep Diver. There are 4 required dives as part of this course, and one of these dives will qualify you as ready to complete the next step, the PADI Tec 45 course.

Tec dive courses. Tec 40 is the doorway between serious recreational diving and technical diving — the first of the courses toward PADI Tec Deep Diver certification, and the one where you learn whether the discipline suits you. The number is the promise: qualified to 40 metres with limited decompression, using the planning software, procedures and equipment that define the technical world.
Who's it for? Divers aiming at full Tec Deep certification — with prerequisites befitting the step: Advanced Open Water and Enriched Air certifications, deep-diving experience, a solid logged-dive history, and age 18. If your recreational computer's limits have started feeling like a ceiling rather than a boundary, this is the structured way through it.
What will I learn? The technical foundation: decompression theory applied through desktop planning software, gas management with real reserves, equipment configured for redundancy, and team procedures where checklists replace optimism. Training dives build toward limited-decompression diving using up to EANx50 for accelerated stops.
Honest context for diving it here: the walls of this region give Tec training genuine purpose — but note that Sipadan itself is managed as a recreational park. Tec courses run on the appropriate sites, and the skills transfer everywhere your diving goes next.
