These photos come from the reefs of Sibuan island in the Tun Sakaran Marine Park: the long blade of white sand half an hour from Semporna that divers call Battleship Island. Sibuan's speciality is the small and the improbable: Bargibant's pygmy seahorses on their gorgonian fans, emperor shrimp riding sea cucumbers, zebra crabs tucked into urchins and clownfish mugging every camera that passes. The gallery below is a fair preview of what a relaxed two-tank day here puts in front of a lens; for the diving itself (sites, depths and the dusk mandarinfish show) see our Sibuan diving guide or contact us to plan an island-hopping day.
