PADI Tec 50 Course
Finally get a chance to put all your learning into practice with the PADI Tec 50 course!
You'll get the chance to do a decompression dive down to 50 metres and make use of enriched air nitrox and/or oxygen to decompress. You'll also use desktop decompression software for planning and to create customised dive tables.
WHO is up for adventure?
Anyone looking to complete the final step in technical diver training and dive down to depths of 50 metres!
Learn to execute planned decompression dives making use of decompression software and 2 gases to accelerate decompression.
WHERE will it take me?
The Tec50 course is the last of your entry-level tec diving qualifications which allows you to surpass the limits of recreational divers.
The next step for interested divers is the Tec Instructor or Tec Deep Instructor or Trimix courses.
WHEN will I be ready?
The PADI Tec50 course consists of 4 dives over 3 days.
Course participants are taken on 2 training dives as well as 2 accelerated decompression dives which allow you to practice what you have learnt in previous courses.
WHY should I be excited?
With this qualification you are able to make independent technical decompression dives as part of a team of 2 or more technical divers.
HOW do I do it?
The course consists of classroom-based theory, practical diving and equipment configuration practice. An added bonus is that two of your required 50 metre dives are at Sipadan.

More about PADI Tec 50 Course
Tec dive courses. Tec 50 is where all the learning gets put into practice: a decompression dive to 50 metres, using enriched air nitrox and/or pure oxygen for accelerated decompression, planned start-to-finish with desktop decompression software — your plan, your gases, your schedule, executed as written. Complete it and you hold PADI Tec Deep Diver certification: a genuinely earned line on any diver's résumé.
Who's it for? Tec 45 graduates finishing the Tec Deep sequence. By this stage the prerequisites are self-selecting — what the course actually demands is consolidation: taking every procedure from the previous levels and running them at depth, under load, without the instructor's hand hovering.
What will I learn? Mission-level planning: multi-gas decompression schedules generated, checked and dived; contingency plans for the failures you've drilled; independent decision-making inside a team structure; and the unglamorous mastery — trim, gas switches, stage handling — that separates certified from competent. The 50-metre deco dive is the exam and the reward in one.
Perspective from the operator's chair: Tec 50 divers make superb recreational divers too — the discipline flows downhill into every dive you'll ever make, including the Sipadan walls dived properly within recreational rules.
