North Point
North Point is great for its marine bio-diversity.
North Point, on the northwest of Sipadan's reef, is the island's biodiversity wall — the site guides pick when someone asks to see "a bit of everything" and means it. It's a classic Sipadan profile: a wall in the 25–40 metre band with 30-metre visibility, where the species list runs long precisely because nothing dominates. Sharks patrol, turtles commute, jacks and fusiliers school past in traffic lanes, and the wall itself is a working city of morays, groupers, nudibranchs and cleaner stations.

Deep ledges, short no-deco times
The depth band puts the best of it in Advanced Open Water territory — which, since Sipadan requires AOW anyway (the rule since October 2022), is less a restriction than a description. Plan it as a proper multilevel: the 30-metre stretch early, then a long middle at 18–20 where the cleaning stations concentrate, finishing shallow where the reef top hums.
North Point vs the southern walls
Honest positioning among its neighbours: North Point rarely produces the single jaw-drop moment that Barracuda Point or a hammerhead morning at South Point can — what it produces, reliably, is the fullest one-tank census of what lives on this island. Divers who log carefully tend to rank it higher than divers who chase headlines.
